Forgotten Things

1 August 2009 - 31 October 2009

The show‘s central character Toby is a teenage boy whose feelings of hopelessness are misunderstood by his parents. His parents are worried, confused and are lost to each other as well as their son, and then there is Grandma Lilly… Dixons darkly comic and surreal exploration of this cross-generational story perfectly illustrates his objectives for Red Ladder. Rod Dixon comments on why this show is playing an integral part in re-defining the organisation..

Alongside a visit to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Red Ladder were developing a programme of work designed to support social development, to encourage young adults to take responsibility for their choices and to learn how to activate change, be that in themselves, their social activities or family lives. This community based development work is designed to be taken into schools, community centres, youth groups and young people’s organisations and will be reflected in the work that these young people and their families will then see on stage. It is Dixons intention to create theatre that will start a dialogue; individuals and organisations will be encouraged to continue this dialogue through Red Ladder’s advocacy work which takes place off stage.
