PLAYWRIGHT EMMA ADAMS SHORTLISTED FOR MEYER-WHITWORTH AWARD

Bradford-born Emma Adams has been shortlisted for the 18th Meyer-Whitworth Award on the strength of her play

FORGOTTEN THINGS , which has been produced by Red Ladder Theatre Company for this year’s Edinburgh Festival.

The prize is awarded and funded by the Royal National Theatre Foundation and managed by the Playwrights' Studio, Scotland. FORGOTTEN THINGS is on at Pleasance King Dome (Venue 23) from 5 to 31 August at 1.50pm.

Emma has been a tourist guide, a dinner lady and a musician; she is now a writer and wrote her first play FOR SALE (which was written specifically for the house it was performed in) and a two part radio drama THE SILVER HAMMER GATED COMMUNITY RADIO HOUR in 2007. FORGOTTEN THINGS is her first play for Red Ladder. She is currently developing a TV Series, NORTHERN SOULS with co-writer Caroline Mitchell and UGLY her second play for Red Ladder Theatre Company will tour in Autumn-Winter 2010.
