Well it's all go at Red Ladder - in preparation for the Emerge Festival, we have commissioned emerging playwright, Ben Tagoe to write a new play for this Leeds festival. Workshop Auditions will be held Sunday 28 March - keep connecting to the site for details.
We've been approached by the Youth Hostel Association to support two Performing Arts Summer Camps, one in the Lake district; Hawkshead & one in the Peak District; Ravenstor. Working with nearly 800 young people over a six week period in the summer this is an opportunity for a brilliant experience for our artists & young people alike. We will keep you updated as this work progresses.
Finally, we have also just recieved the report from ARROW - Art: a Resource for Reconciliation over the World, outlining ARROW activity in South Africa 2009 & the UK ARROW symposium. (Red Ladder is the English Theatre Company attached to this initiative) The report makes very interesting reading about how Art is being utilised as a reconciliatory tool across the globe. PDF below
