‘Nor Any Drop’ Workshop Package
Autumn Tour (November 2011)
‘Nor Any Drop’ is an exciting and challenging theatre piece for secondary schools, and will be touring Yorkshire and Lancashire for a limited time only from 7 November 2011.
Written by journalist and writer Nick Ahad after a research trip to India, the play follows the lives of five characters in England and Bangladesh dealing with the real effects of climate change. (See attachment).
To support this performance, schools can also book Red Ladder’s accompanying Global Justice educational workshop. This workshop reflects on issues raised in the play using games, role-play and group discussion. We aim to engage, inspire and equip pupils with the skills to become advocates of positive social change amongst their peers and communities.
The Nor Any Drop Workshop Package includes:
|
‘Nor Any Drop’ (Two performances) |
Nor Any Drop (45 mins long) can be performed twice during the school day, or you may choose for one performance to occur out of school hours as a ticketed event. There will be an after-play Chat Back session, enabling any questions from the audience to be fully answered by the cast. |
|
Global Justice Workshop |
The Global Justice educational workshop can be booked within or after school hours. We recommend that teachers select student advocates from a range of classes and year groups to participate. The workshop can be undertaken before or after the performances but are limited to 20 students per workshop facilitator. |
|
Teacher INSET Workshop |
Following your booking, participating staff will be invited to attend an INSET Workshop held in September/October. This will be an opportunity for those involved to be fully briefed on the aims and structure of the project, and to learn how to prepare and support pupils throughout. |
|
Costs: The package includes all of the above for only £750 + VAT. We are happy to negotiate rates depending on the workshop package required for the school and schools are welcome to work together on packages. | |
